We are a travel tech company at the forefront of transforming the travel experience in the Middle East. With our innovative platform, we connect travelers to unique experiences in and around Dubai. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team and lead our financial operations.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; provide actionable insights to senior management.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate tax fillings in accordance with UAE regulations
Stay abreast of local financial regulations and ensure compliance across all operations
Liaise with external auditors and ensure that the company meets its statutory obligations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of Wakanows budget and financial forecasts
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, initiating corrective actions as necessary
Cash Flow Management
Monitor Wakanows cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
Oversee accounts payable, account receivable, cash disbursements, and bank reconciliations functions
Ensure that all financial transactions are executed and documented
Stakeholder Communication
Collaborate with stakeholders to share financial insights and recommendations
Engage with external partners such as banks, and other financial institutions.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional qualifications like ACCA, CIMA, or ACA will be an added advantage
Minimum of 5-7 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting or financial management role.
Experience in the travel tech or related industry is a plus
Proficiency in accounting software and tools
Strong understanding of the financial regulations and standards in the UAE
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
