Job Description:
As a Sales Officer – Retail, you will be responsible for driving sales and maximizing revenue in a retail environment. You will work closely with the sales team and management to achieve sales targets, provide excellent customer service, and ensure the smooth operation of the retail store. Your role will involve a combination of sales, customer service, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Revenue Generation:
Actively engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide product recommendations.
Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the retail store.
Upsell and cross-sell products to increase average transaction value.
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide accurate information about products, pricing, and promotions.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
Build strong customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Store Operations:
Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock replenishment.
Assist in visual merchandising to create an attractive store layout.
Collaborate with the store manager to develop and implement sales strategies.
Sales Reporting and Administration:
Keep track of daily sales activities, including sales transactions and customer interactions.
Prepare sales reports and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of inventory and update product information as necessary.
Assist with stocktaking and inventory management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business or related field is a plus.
Proven experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in a similar role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Knowledge of products or services offered by the retail store.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
