The English Teacher will be responsible for working in partnership with the Branch Supervisor and Senior Teacher to optimize the daily running of the nursery, delivering flexible, high-quality education and care that meets the needs of young children and their families. Is the key leader for the implementation of English within the KidZone branch and has responsibility for ensuring all teachers and teaching assistants to receive the necessary support, resources and training to help improve the quality of the English language for all children. As the English teacher, plans and delivers quality lessons and ensures all children receive the necessary support. The English teacher will work very closely with the other English teacher in the other KidZone branch to ensure consistency of curriculum implementation, assessment, professional development for staff, and parental engagement.
Responsibilities:
Plans and teaches the English curriculum to cover all the learning areas parallel with EYFS
Efficiently supervises the implementation of The English curriculum in the nursery, including developing resources and training for other teachers and teaching assistants where English is not their native language.
Develop and implement assessment processes that are age-appropriate and communicated to parents frequently aligned with the nursery’s policies and procedures.
Responsible for planning, developing and delivering the English program to meet the learning interests and needs of all children, extending them where necessary, and contributing to the review and further development of English language learning within the nursery.
Encourage teachers to reflect on their own practices to identify areas for improvement and recognize staff training needs, request appropriate training programs, and monitor the effectiveness of training received.
Ensure all the documentation, such as Developmental Records, Observations, Weekly Planners and Term Events, are well planned and implemented to stimulate, nurture and focus on the children’s needs at every stage of their development.
Builds awareness and support for teachers and teaching assistants to ensure a consistent approach for teaching English language within their classrooms. This includes delivering some professional development.
Support the nursery in other tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Diploma in Teaching.
Childcare & Education experience recognized qualification or relevant courses.
Relevant Core Training: Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Pediatric First Aid
(International Standards).
Childcare knowledge and experience within a Childcare environment desirable.
Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience with children from 0-4 years of age
3 years of experience working in a school or nursery teaching English
Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
