We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Qualified Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial management and reporting processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This individual will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including reconciliations, financial analysis, and the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment reporting to the Group Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting standards. For individual entities and at the Group level.
Month-End and Quarterly & Year-End Close: Lead and participate in the closing processes. Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and financial reports are generated on time.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts. Review and correct discrepancies as necessary.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor and report on budget variances.
Account Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making. Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors and prepare necessary documentation for annual audits.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
AML Compliance: Support compliance teams externally by providing data requested by relevant authorities.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the finance team and cross-functional departments to support financial goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance. Acca desirable.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility. Jewelry business experience is preferable.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards (e.g., IFRS).
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Pivot, Vlook up).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is preferred.
Immediate availability is preferred.
