We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Cashier Assistant to support our cashier team in providing efficient and friendly service to our customers. The Cashier Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting with cash transactions, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of the checkout process.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers with a warm and welcoming attitude as they approach the cashier’s counter.
Assist customers in locating products and answer any questions they may have.
Scan and process items accurately at the cash register, ensuring correct pricing and discounts.
Handle cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions securely and with precision.
Provide customers with receipts and ensure proper change is given.
Bag or package customers’ purchases carefully and efficiently.
Keep the cashier area clean and organized, including restocking bags and other supplies.
Alert supervisors to any discrepancies in pricing or inventory.
Address customer inquiries or concerns in a polite and helpful manner.
Assist with returning and exchanging items following company policies.
Collaborate with the cashier team to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process.
Follow cash handling procedures and adhere to security protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a cashier assistant or in a similar role is a plus but not required.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle cash transactions accurately.
Basic math skills for counting money and providing change.
Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Team player with a positive and helpful attitude.
Flexibility to work during peak shopping hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
