As a Dental Nurse in the UAE, you will support dental practitioners in providing high-quality oral healthcare services to patients. You will work closely with dentists and other members of the dental team to ensure efficient and effective dental procedures. Dental Nurses in the UAE play a critical role in delivering patient care and maintaining a sterile and organized dental environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting Dental Procedures: Prepare dental instruments, materials, and equipment for various dental procedures. Assist dentists during treatments, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, root canals, and dental surgeries. Provide chairside support to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Patient Care and Education: Prepare patients for dental treatments and procedures. Explain treatment plans, oral hygiene instructions, and post-operative care to patients. Address patient questions and concerns, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile dental environment. Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to established guidelines. Monitor and maintain the stock of dental supplies and equipment.
Radiography and Imaging: Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as prescribed by dentists. Ensure proper positioning of patients and radiation safety measures. Develop and maintain accurate radiographic records.
Administrative Tasks: Assist in scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and maintaining accurate documentation. Handle billing and insurance-related tasks as required. Maintain confidentiality and data protection of patient information.
Dental Laboratory Work: Prepare dental impressions, models, and casts as directed by dentists. Assist with the fabrication and maintenance of dental prostheses, including dentures, crowns, and bridges.
Emergency Response: Assist in managing dental emergencies, including providing immediate first aid and arranging prompt referrals if necessary. Remain calm and efficient in handling urgent situations.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Learning: Adhere to professional standards, guidelines, and regulations related to dental nursing practice. Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills. Stay updated with advancements in dental technology and procedures.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with dentists, dental hygienists, and other members of the dental team. Maintain effective communication and contribute to a harmonious and supportive work environment.
Qualifications And Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Dental Nursing.
Valid registration as a Dental Nurse with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or other relevant regulatory body in the UAE.
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
Familiarity with dental radiography and imaging techniques.
Proficiency in dental software and electronic record-keeping systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical setting.
