Joseph Engineering Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in both financial and management accounting areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial matters and providing valuable insights for decision-making.
Financial Accounting:
Manage and oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Analyse financial data and produce financial reports for management review.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors.
Management Accounting:
Develop and manage budgeting processes, including the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Conduct variance analysis to compare budgeted costs to actual costs and explain variances.
Implement and maintain internal control systems and financial procedures.
Provide strategic analyses and recommendations to enhance business performance.
Support the General Manager with ad-hoc financial analysis, strategic planning, and other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CFMS or equivalent professional accounting designation is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an engineering, construction or related industry.
Strong understanding of both financial and management accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
